Specifications for Full Cast Metal

Indications

Indicated for posterior crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays requiring strength, biocompatibility, and minimal preparation.

Not recommended for anterior restorations where esthetics are critical
May not be suitable for patients with known allergies to specific alloy components
Avoid in cases where metal display at the gingival margin is a concern

Limitations

Metallic appearance is aesthetically unsuitable for visible anterior zones
Hard base-metal types may increase wear on opposing teeth; precious alloys like gold are much gentler on opposing enamel
Minimal or no shade matching beyond alloy color (limited aesthetic customization)

Durability

Flexural strength > 1100 MPa

Preparation

Conservative tooth reduction; typically 0.5–1.0 mm occlusal clearance is sufficient depending on alloy type.
