Indications

Used for the management of TMJ disorders and bruxism by repositioning the mandible to a therapeutic position.

Contraindications

Patients with acrylic or resin allergies
Cases requiring extensive occlusal repositioning beyond Gelb functionality (e.g., severe skeletal discrepancies)
Situations requiring fixed or long‑term occlusal bite repositioning rather than temporary deprogramming

Limitations

Intended for diagnostic or short‑term therapeutic use only; not recommended as a permanent occlusal guard
May increase vertical dimension; prolonged use could lead to posterior open bite if not monitored
Retention depends on natural undercuts; clasps may be added for stability if needed

Preparation

Submit a mandibular intraoral scan capturing all posterior tooth surfaces and occlusal relationships; include opposing arch if necessary. Provide a protrusive bite record to establish at least 2 mm vertical opening. No tooth reduction required

Quality check in CAD for lingual bar placement, acrylic pad indexing and retention features

Policies & Warranty

Godent offers a 1 year limited warranty covering material and production defects. If appliance failure results from lab error and occurs within the warranty period, replacement or repair will be provided at no cost when the original device and prescription are returned. All digital scan and prescription data are stored securely to support future reproductions or case modifications.
