Night Guards

Indications

Used to protect teeth from damage caused by nighttime grinding or clenching (bruxism), and to relieve associated muscle tension.

Contraindications

Intraoral allergies to acrylics or thermoformed materials
Severe malocclusion where custom trimming or relocation data is missing
Patients unwilling to adhere to nightly wear for effectiveness
Active periodontal disease without prior treatment

Limitations

Soft single-layer guards may compress under heavy bruxism, allowing continued wear
Dual‑laminate or hard guards can feel bulky and reduce comfort in sensitive patients
May not alleviate headaches or muscle pain; designed primarily as protective devices

Preparation

Submit maxillary or mandibular intraoral scan of both arches. Provide bite registration/capture of centric relation for accurate occlusal alignment. No physical trimming of teeth required.

Verification Steps

Internal digital QC for thickness uniformity, margin fit, occlusal alignment, and CAD-guided thickness checks
Check that the guard allows even occlusal contacts in centric relation without interferences
Final visual inspection for smooth trimmed borders, proper finish, and symmetric shape before shipping

Policies & Warranty

Godent offers a 1 year limited warranty on material defects and fabrication errors. If the night guard fails due to lab error and is returned within the warranty period with prescription details, a replacement or repair will be provided at no additional cost. All digital scans and prescription files are stored securely for efficient remakes or customized revisions.
