Lingual Retainer

Indications

Used to maintain long-term alignment of anterior teeth by bonding to the lingual surfaces, typically after orthodontic treatment.

Contraindications

Known metal allergies (nickel or stainless steel)
Poor oral hygiene where bonded wire may lead to plaque buildup
Excessive anterior crowding or movement requiring removable retention
Active periodontal disease or severely compromised teeth

Limitations

Challenging to floss and maintain hygiene under the wire
Composite bonding failure may occur leading to debonding or wire breakage
Offers stabilization but no adjustability post-bonding. Requires replacement if misfit occurs.

Preparation

Submit an intraoral scan of the arch with intact anteriors. Include the opposing arch if bonding pads are required. Ensure occlusal contacts and prescribed bonded positions are recorded. No tooth reduction is necessary.

Policies & Warranty

Godent provides a 1 year limited warranty against fabrication defects or material failures. If debonding or wire fracture occurs within this period and laboratory prescription was followed, we will replace or repair the retainer at no extra charge. Digital models and prescriptions are securely stored for efficient remake or customized revisions upon request.
