Indications

Used for the treatment of Class II malocclusions and obstructive sleep apnea by advancing the mandible to improve airway patency and jaw alignment.

Contraindications

Patients allergic to acrylic or metal components
Severely asymmetrical or skeletal Class II requiring surgical correction
Non-compliant patients unable to tolerate fixed mandibular advancement device

Limitations

Designed primarily for growing patients; not recommended as a permanent solution in adults
Mechanical hinges require careful adjustment; risk of unilateral advancement or imbalance
May cause some incisor proclination or minor posterior dental movement during treatment

Preparation

Submit intraoral scans of both arches capturing bite in protruded position (typically 5–7 mm forward), along with vertical opening record (3–4 mm). Provide interarch relationships; no physical models needed.

Design Options

Separate upper and lower splints connected by bilateral hinged rods; micro‑adjustable screw advancement (up to ~10 mm), optional elastics for vertical control. Designed to maintain mandibular forward posture while allowing lateral movement.

Policies & Warranty

Godent provides a 1 year limited warranty covering material or manufacturing defects. If appliance fails due to lab error, returns are eligible for a remake or repair at no extra cost when accompanied by the original device and digital prescription. All scan data and design files are securely archived for future reproductions or custom adjustments.
